On April 27, 2021, at ~6:30 am UTC, Microsoft reported an issue with Microsoft Teams impacting users in Europe and Asia.
Twitter users globally quickly responded, confirming the Teams outage, the Teams app crashing, and the breadth of the impact could perhaps be global and not limited to the Europe and Asia geos.
Microsoft within the hour was able to confirm the Teams issues were global. At that time, Microsoft was still investigating in order to identify the issue source.
Approximately 2 hours after first reporting the issue, Microsoft was able to identify the cause and began performing actions to rectify.
By ~9:00 am UTC, approximately 2.5 hours after first reporting the issue, Microsoft had indicated that the issue with Teams was resolved and Teams service was now operating normally.
Here are resources for Microsoft Teams monitoring and reporting during service outages.
