Responses on Twitter from the Microsoft community were as expected, especially given this is the second issue reported by Microsoft in the past 24-hour period. The prior issue was reported by Microsoft yesterday, April 24th, as service incident MO545600, which involved issues with search functionality in various Microsoft 365 services. Many responses on Twitter were very critical of the frequency of outages and service incidents.
No community responses on Twitter gave any indication of whether or not the current Exchange Online connectivity issues extended beyond the North American region.
And approximately 60 minutes after first reporting the issue, Microsoft sent a second tweet announcing that the issue, thanks to their automated recovery systems, was resolved.
We've confirmed that our automated recovery systems took action to reroute affected traffic to alternate infrastructure, which resolved the issue. More details can be found in the Microsoft 365 admin center under EX546390.
